INSTALL AND TRY ON WINDOWS
Get started in three steps.
Download and extract
Download the demo ZIP and extract it into a folder. The four fonts offer different heights for the same barcode. Start with Standard.
Install the font
Close the applications you will use with the font, such as Word or InDesign. Double-click AlphaEAN-Demo-Standard.otf in the extracted folder and select Install. Install the other heights the same way.
Try it in Word
Reopen Word and type *1234567890128*. Select all the text, including the asterisks. Set the font to AlphaEAN-Standard and the size to 20 pt.
For EAN-8, try %12345670%. Include the percent signs.
PRODUCT LISTS IN EXCEL
One formula.
Thousands of barcodes.
If your EAN codes are already in Excel, use a formula to add the delimiters. No need to type them for each product.
With your product’s EAN code in cell A2, enter this in B2:

="%"&A2&"%"Copy the appropriate formula down column B for the remaining products. Select the formula cells and set the font to AlphaEAN-Standard at 20 pt. Adjust the column width and row heights so the barcodes are fully visible.
Store the original EAN codes in column A as text to preserve leading zeros. Use complete codes, including their check digits.
INDESIGN AND ILLUSTRATOR
Barcodes directly
in your layout.
Install the demo font and reopen your design application. Create a text frame or text object and type *1234567890128*.
Select all the text, including the asterisks. Set the font to AlphaEAN-Standard and the size to 20 pt. For EAN-8, use %12345670%.
Keep character spacing at its normal setting and avoid stretching the barcode. Leave enough clear space around it.
About the demo
The DEMO watermark appears on screen and in print, interrupting some of the bars. The demo therefore does not represent the print quality or scan reliability of the full version. Installing the full version replaces the matching demo font. Close applications using the font before installing, and accept replacement if Windows prompts you.
